Looking back while looking forward: Recap of the UNNC Alumni Annual Congress 2023
12月2日，宁波诺丁汉大学校友发展年会顺利召开。此次聚会旨在提高宁诺全球校友网络互动性和活跃性，共同为即将到来的宁诺建校20周年庆祝活动预热。此次活动汇聚了宁诺全球校友分会成员以及各行业资深校友，大家共同回顾宁诺历程，庆祝校友成就，并探索未来的发展机会。
On 2 December, the university was delighted to host the UNNC Alumni Annual Congress 2023 on campus. This gathering aimed to enhance the connections across UNNC’s global alumni network, and was also a warm-up for the upcoming UNNC 20th anniversary in 2024. This event brought together key members of the UNNC global alumni chapters and senior alumni from various industries to reminisce about their life at UNNC, celebrate achievements, and explore future development opportunities.

年会为大学和校友建立了沟通的桥梁。我们邀请各学院院长、资深教授和校友嘉宾参与主题圆桌讨论，共同探索宁诺与校友关系发展新模式，新途径。学院圆桌讨论围绕主题“如何加强校友群体与大学之间有效联系的机制和渠道”开展，由陈博校友(2011届FAM专业，现在深圳从事私募股权投资)主持，张毓隆教授（宁波诺丁汉大学研究生院院长和全球事务长），邝国威教授（诺丁汉大学商学院（中国）院长），林约斯博士（宁波诺丁汉大学人文社科学院代理院长），和孙煦教授（宁波诺丁汉大学理工学院产品设计与制造教授，科研与知识交流代理副院长）参与。
The UNNC Alumni Annual Congress has enhanced the bridge between the university and alumni community, facilitating opportunities for valuable interactions. Faculty deans, senior professors, and alumni guests participated in various panel discussions throughout the day, with topics touched upon including channels to strengthen effective connection between alumni community and the university and how faculties interact with alumni. The panel discussion for Faculties was moderated by alumnus Chen Bo (2011 FAM, Venture Capitalist in Shenzhen). Professor Alain Chong (Dean of Graduate School and Global Engagement), Professor Kok Wei Khong (Dean of NUBS China), Dr Celia Lam (Interim Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences), and Professor Xu Sun (Professor in Industrial Design and Manufacture, Interim Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange) all participated, sharing insightful information and interacting with the audience.

校友圆桌讨论由宁波诺丁汉大学发展与校友关系办公室代理主任何蕾主持，全球校友分会代表参与并分享了校友活动成功经验，增强大学和各分会默契协作以及对各地校友的人文关怀。
The following alumni panel discussion was chaired by Lei He, Interim Director of UNNC’s Development and Alumni Relations Office. Representatives from global alumni chapters participated in sharing experiences and stories, and discussed opportunities to enhance the close connection between UNNC, each alumni chapter, and current students and new alumni.

活动上，大学还为各分会颁发了表彰证书，以感谢他们在对宁诺校友关系发展的支持和奉献。
The day also saw a certificate ceremony for the Chapter Chairs, showing appreciation for all their hard work and dedication supporting the development of the UNNC alumni community, and appointing them for three years in their positions as chairs.

除此之外，头脑风暴环节鼓励团队讨论和交流，加强互动，鼓励校友们为即将到来的宁诺20周年庆祝活动献言献策。大家就如何更好地增强海外校友的互动与联系进行了热烈探讨，也对大学未来可持续发展进行了深度剖析。茶歇时间，2014届金融财务与管理专业校友石印为大家带来手碟演奏，在唯美的音乐旋律里，大家放松了心情，舒缓了一天的忙碌。
In the afternoon, alumni were welcomed to a pitch and brainstorming session with UNNC staff and academics. Ideas were exchanged about 20th anniversary projects, with alumni contributing suggestions and opportunities for interaction. Alumni engagement in Europe and continuing professional development available at UNNC was also discussed, and all present were treated to a unique hand pan meditation demonstration by Yin Shi (2014 FAM). This fascinating session showcased the skill and talent present in the alumni community and allowed for a meaningful break in the middle of a busy day of connection!
